Pro-Climate. Anti-Waste. Low Cost. High Quality.
TonerWise sells certified remanufactured ink and toner, a 52% carbon footprint reduction. Together, we can tackle modern issues like single-use plastic waste in landfills and oceans, and unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions.
By reusing plastic ink and toner cartridges, TonerWise helps agencies, institutions and businesses reduce waste through the reuse, remanufacturing and recycling of spent ink and toner cartridges.
Our products are made in North America in ISO-certified facilities, so we are TAA compliant!
Environmentally preferable cartridges include our selection of remanufactured and high-yield cartridges.
High-yield cartridges usually contain about twice as much ink or toner as an equivalent standard-yield cartridge, which translates into more printed pages per cartridge. TonerWise "extra" high yield cartridges exceed the page rating of OEM equivalent cartridges to save even more, and reduce waste. Reusing cartridges cuts plastic waste disposal at landfills and saves energy. Less energy is used to produce remanufactured cartridges than to create new ones.
Remanufactured cartridges also help state agencies meet their State Agency Buy Recycled Campaign (SABRC) compliance requirements.
The manufacture of a brand-new toner cartridge releases approximately 4.6kg CO2 – ranging from the 3 quarts of petroleum to be drilled and refined, to the manufacturing process of both the cartridge and the toner. We reuse the plastic cartridge instead!
The cheapest toner, called compatible toner, are BRAND NEW cartridges. Compatible cartridges are typically manufactured overseas with low quality plastic (than cannot be re-used), and are made without regard to American OEM intellectual property.
Reusing cartridges diverts plastic waste from disposal at landfills. Each year, 1 billion pounds of plastic cartridges are disposed of in landfills, with many cartridges turning up in our waterways, and ultimately our oceans. Over time, ocean plastics degrade into ever smaller microplastics, and are ingested by marine life.

Product Development & Testing
To ensure that our products meet or exceed expectations with each printed page, we subject our cartridges to a process known as “Advanced Lifecycle Testing”.
This extensive, ongoing battery of tests has been specifically designed to ensure that our cartridges perform as well or better than the OEM, from the first page printed right to the last. Advanced Lifecycle Testing includes OEM benchmarking, rigorous component and raw material testing, environmental chamber testing, pre and post-production testing and a centralized quality monitoring system to ensure consistent quality and performance.
OHSAS 18001:2007 is the international specification for an Occupational Health & Safety management system (OH&S). It specifies requirements for establishing a health and safety policy, determining risks and hazards of products/activities/services, planning objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, with continual improvement through corrective action and management review.
ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.
ISO 14001:2015 is the international specification for an environmental management system (EMS). It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action and management review.
STMC stands for the Standardized Test Methods Committee. The International Imaging Technology Council (Int'l ITC) administers the STMC program, assures its proper usage and polices against misuse of the STMC program and logos. For more than a decade, the STMC symbol has been the remanufacturing industry's indicia of quality. The test methods are used to evaluate toner printer cartridge performance. STMC uses certain ASTM test methods to evaluate a finished cartridge in comparison to another cartridge, typically an OEM cartridge.
R2 Certification, also known as Responsible Recycling Certification, provides verification of Clover’s environmentally responsible, safe, and transparent management of toner cartridges, cell phones, and other consumer electronics. R2 Certification is facility specific and has been awarded Clover Environmental Solutions (CES) Mexicali, Mexico collections processing operation center.
TOP BUYING TIPS FOR INK AND TONER
- Remanufactured cartridges where the spent cartridge has been cleaned and any defective or worn parts replaced. A “refilled” cartridge is not the same as a “remanufactured” cartridge.
- A cartridge company that guarantees their remanufactured cartridges meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Ask supplier for a cartridge to test. Evaluating the performance will help reduce paper waste caused by poor quality prints.
- Cartridge take-back programs.
- Independently certified manufacturing processes (STMC) in ISO-certified facilities.
